WHAT IS DIALOGY?
“Dialogy” is the study of and through dialogue, discussion, and debate.
Dialogy Education is an innovative education training organization that seeks to empower young people to understand and solve problems through reasoned dialogue, discussion, and debate. We are committed to transforming and enhancing enrichment education in China by placing dialogue and debate at the center of pedagogical practice
We provide an innovative critical literacy program for students grades 3-5 focused around the practice of debate. Our program teaches media literacy, current events, philosophy, politics, and social studies through dialogical learning methods, particularly debate.
Rather than treating reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking as separate disciplines, we believe that these are all best learned in careful coordination with one another. Debate is educationally robust precisely because it brings together all modes of literacy – listening, reading, speaking, writing – into a single activity. Most importantly, it enables this learning to be fun!
Our critical practice of dialogue and debate – between students, students and teachers, and between students and parents – at all levels of the learning process is what sets us apart. Dialogical education is not merely learning how to talk and dialogue with others, but instead learning through talk and dialogue with others.
